Project Details

National Plant and Equipment (NPE) are a major plant hire company specialising in large earthmoving equipment for the civil and mining industries. Subsequently NPE have an extensive array of very large plant and equipment, including a fleet of heavy haulage trailers and trucking units to enable the delivery of the hire equipment to various mining sites within Australia. The new hardstand at Yatala was constructed in a strategic location to store the various hire equipment and haulage units when not in use on projects.

Works commenced in December 2013 and were Practically Completed in early 2014. Some works were ongoing through the middle of 2014 due to ongoing negotiations with the Gold Coast City Council for the construction of lighting infrastructure within an easement, however this did not stop the client from being able to use their new facility.

Work Undertaken

  • 17,000m2 of new gravel, concrete and asphalt pavements
  • Stormwater detention basin and buried in ground services for future connections
  • Feature rendered and painted block entry and retaining walls and columns
  • Feature landscaping to the perimeter of site and major entry statement including improvements of the existing
  • Security floodlighting and fencing
  • Large cantilevered entry gate and heavy duty concrete driveway
