Alder Constructions Pty Ltd was engaged to complete all civil works required for a new 17 block subdivision located at Wellington Point for GGC Holdings. Some minor earthworks were required to reshape the allotments to the finished profile. This did provide some challenges to Alder Constructions as a result of the natural characteristics of the red, clayey soil, along with heavy rainfall that was experienced during construction.

Throughout the entire construction period, Alder Constructions liaised closely with the adjacent property owners as the new service infrastructure for the subdivision needed to be installed via an existing easement, which was also the main driveway access to the existing residents. All works, including the installation of the new services and the provision of a new concrete driveway on this existing easement, was completed with minimal disturbance to the residents. The residents commended Alder Constructions for their efforts.

As part of the new roads for the subdivision, Alder Constructions also widened and improved the existing roadway, which ran adjacent to the site entry. This tied into the existing pavements and new concrete kerb and channel were provided. This was all completed under live traffic conditions with appropriate traffic control measures in place to provide a safe working situation.

Alder’s worked closely with both the consultant and local council throughout the construction period to ensure that all stormwater, erosion and sediment control devices functioned as intended, so that there was no detrimental effect to the natural environment.

Even though heavy rainfall affected some stages of construction, these works were completed on time and on budget for the client, which ensured GGC Holdings were able to make the allotments available to the public in the shortest possible time and they completely sold the subdivision very quickly.
