Project Details

Alder Constructions were engaged by the Department of Community Services to construct this state-of-the-art Ambulance Station in Coomera. The facility became the benchmark for further QAS facilities that were constructed throughout Queensland by the Queensland Government.

Alder Constructions completed the project on time and on budget

Work Undertaken

  • New traffic lights to and separate entry point off Foxwell Road, Coomera, which carries approximately 10,000 vehicles per day
  • Full male and female staff facilities including rest rooms, showers, kitchen facilities, meal areas, staff rooms, locker rooms including disabled compliant facilities
  • Communication facilities that co-ordinate with all emergency services, fleet vehicles and medical facilities
  • Fully secured entry to car park, buildings and ambulance vehicle parking areas
  • Medical supply and drug secure security areas
  • Storage area for all equipment, medical supplies and associated items
  • 8 ambulance undercover and secured parking bays finished with non-slip and non-marking epoxy floor covering
  • Energy efficient building with a full energy rating including solar and water capture systems. Louvres cover the windows to ensure heat transferred into and out of the building is minimised, while still being aesthetically pleasing
  • Back up electricity equipment so that the facility would still be operational in case of electrical failure
  • Quality landscaping finishes
  • All finishes, fittings and items completed to the highest Queensland Government compliance standards
  • 20 staff and client car park spaces
