Project Details

This project involved the design and construction of a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) Waste Water Treatment Plant which Alder managed and constructed from concept through to handing over a completely operational plant.

Alder were responsible for the process design and performance of the plant. As part of this project, Alder designed a number of very specialised process equipment items which were custom built by boilermakers under Alder’s strict supervision and guidance. One of the major constraints of this project was that the existing waste water treatment plant had to remain completely operational throughout the construction of the new plant. This objective was successfully achieved through thorough planning and concise staging of the works.

Upon completion of the project, the plant performed well above it’s design requirements, with the Client enjoying savings greater than expected.
