Project Details

Alder Constructions was approached by Thiess, as part of the Trackstar Alliance, to undertake a very challenging and interesting construction and fit-out job on the two stations as part of the railway network extension.

The two stations, Springfield Central and Springfield Lakes, would have to withstand high traffic use, while still being aesthetically pleasing and visually attractive building. The two stations had individual designs and components and were located approximately 5km from each other, which made the project even more logistically challenging.

The timetable for the works was very defined with no room for extensions or changes as the whole railway line had to be operational by a pre-determined date. The completion of the stations was a critical piece of this infrastructure and therefore had to be completed on time and on budget. The finish in all areas had to be of the highest level in terms of design and finish, while being built to last.

Alder Constructions achieved all of these targets and specifications that Trackstar were extremely happy with, all of which places Alder in an excellent position to undertake future railway works.
