Energex’s crews will soon have improved access to Brisbane’s inner northern suburbs and CBD with the new $15m depot at Stafford recently awarded to Alder Constructions.
The Babarra Street depot will be home to approximately 150 Energex field and support staff allowing them to respond more effectively to emergency outages and network maintenance in Brisbane’s inner north.
With the tender now awarded, mobilisation on the site has commenced with final completion set for mid 2020.
Once Stafford depot is up and running it will house 40 response vehicles, with a 2040 square metre warehouse and 1290 square metre office space.
As well as field staff, Energex designers, planners and project managers will work out of the new depot.
The commencement of this project adds to the growing portfolio of inner Brisbane projects with current construction of the new $11.75 mil Science and Technology facility at Indooroopilly’s Brigidine College and $0.7 mil façade refurbishment of Oaks Lexicon Apartments on Ann Street in Brisbane’s CBD.
Alder Constructions will be working with Ranbury, PDT, Bellas & Reitano and WSP to deliver the new depot for Energex.
