Alder Constructions takes out top honours second year in a row
Alder Constructions has continued to cement its reputation as a leader in the education sector, being awarded for its delivery of the brand new Winton Centre at A.B. Paterson College. The Gold Coast construction company has taken out the education facilities award at the 2019 Master Builders Gold Coast Housing and Construction Awards, for the second year in a row.
In 2018, Alder Constructions was awarded for its work on the future-focused Primary Learning Resource Centre, ‘The Pod’ at Coomera Anglican College. The Winton Centre achieved top honours in the same category on Saturday night, for projects valued over $10 million.
The new $13 million learning precinct at Arundel – which opened officially in June – has delivered 4,500sqm of dedicated learning spaces with state-of-the-art design and technology.
Alder Constructions General Manager Dean Cheffers says The Winton Centre has set a new benchmark in educational precincts on the Gold Coast. “The Winton Centre is a prime example of how innovative architecture and high quality construction are redefining the way school children learn,” he said.
“Innovative design, cutting edge technology, and interactive learning environments are the way of the future. The three level building is a high where to buy valium quality, inspiring and engaging space that the students, teachers and parents can be proud of.”
The first floor features a magical rainforest-themed playground, three Pre-Prep classrooms, an Outside School Hours Care facility, a café and film studio. The upper levels house a library, flexible learning spaces and 160-seat multi-purpose lecture theatre equipped with retractable seating, acoustics panels, and a fully sprung floor. It has been adorned in the colour palette of the Australian bush, representing A.B. Paterson’s strong heritage, with colourful, vibrant and dynamic learning spaces throughout.
Alder’s partnership with Burling Brown Architects has seen it complete multiple leading developments like the TSS Multi-Purpose Auditorium and Sports Hall, and ‘The Pod’ at Coomera Anglican College. Alder Constructions is currently constructing an $11.75 million Science and Technology facility at Indooroopilly’s Brigidine College, adding to the company’s growing portfolio of cutting edge education facilities across South East Queensland.
Master Builders Housing and Construction Awards recognise members at the forefront of building innovation and quality craftsmanship, promoting and showcasing excellence in Queensland’s housing and construction industry. Alder Constructions has now been entered into the QLD state awards, to be announced on 01 November.
