The project consisted of dry and wet excavation within the existing marine environment. The existing soils were high in acid sulphate levels that needed to be treated prior to placement. Various areas were bunded off to enable professional fishers to remove and relocate certain species of fish back into the Coomera River. The area was the de-watered to enable the earthworks to be undertaken.
The project was successfully executed in a popular public sporting facility. Works were completed (4) four weeks ahead of programme and were also delivered under the Gold Coast City Council’s budget.
