Project Highlights

The redevelopment delivered a fully enclosed heated indoor pool and interactive splashpad, expanding recreation and aquatic facilities for the Beenleigh community.

Indoor-Outdoor Connection

Full-length bifold doors connected the indoor pool facility to the external splashpad, creating a flexible aquatic environment for users of all ages.

Interactive Splashpad

The splashpad incorporated 15 sea-themed play features, including cannon sprayers, aquatic animal sprayers, water tunnels, geysers, jet streams and a 4m-tall spraying sea serpent.

Sun-Safe Play Area

Large shade structures were installed over the splashpad, complementing dedicated precast inground balance tanks and creating a comfortable outdoor recreation space.

Heated Pool Facility

The fully tiled indoor heated pool included lane markers, target tiles, a perimeter wet deck, teaching ledge, grab rails and backstroke posts.

Accessible Design

Accessibility features included a disabled hoist and ramp, providing inclusive access to the aquatic facilities.

Water Infrastructure

An in-situ concrete inground balance tank with recessed tiled access hatches formed part of the project's specialised aquatic infrastructure.

Purpose-Built Structure

The pool building was constructed with a steel portal frame treated for humid and chemical-rich conditions, along with a Spantech roof featuring a cantilevered entrance overhang.

Community Amenities

Supporting facilities included pool storage, amenities, showers, change rooms, a specialised accessible changing room, first aid room, office and kiosk.

The indoor pool features a full perimeter wet deck, teaching ledge, lane markers, backstroke posts, and accessible design elements such as a disabled hoist and ramp. The adjacent splashpad offers 15 interactive sea-themed play features—including a 4-metre-tall spraying sea serpent—set within a colourful, non-slip colourcrete surface and shaded by large structures for sun safety. The facility also includes a steel portal-framed pool building with a cantilevered Spantech roof, a fully equipped amenities block, and a kiosk.
