Following the successful delivery of the 11 hectare, 15 lot industrial subdivision, Aspire Industrial Park, Alder Constructions secured the contract to deliver the design and construction of a new Asphalt Batching Plant for one of the buyers, Colas, a multi-national company in the construction and maintenance of roads and transport infrastructure.
Alder Constructions successfully managed the full design process for Colas to ensure the facility was delivered to meet the operational requirements of the high impact business. Throughout the project, Alder Constructions were able to provide value engineered solutions based on vehicle constraints and operational needs of Colas.
This included an increase in aggregate storage areas to improve productivity of the plant and modelling and amendment of building positions to accommodate B-Double vehicle movements. Specialist disciplines such as hazardous waste management and stormwater quality devices were also provided to ensure Colas met its obligations when manufacturing to undertake testing of the asphalt product.
