As a result of tropical cyclone Debbie, City of Gold Coast identified nineteen landslip sites throughout the Gold Coast region that required significant stabilisation and structural repairs.

Alder Constructions were engaged under a Design and Construct contract with the scope inclusive of gabion wall retaining systems, reinforced concrete pavements, contiguous piled retaining walls, drainage structures, rockfilled embankments and sealed/asphalt pavements. The works were required to be undertaken between November and June throughout the typical wet-season in areas already damaged as a result of wet weather and overland flows.
