Alder Constructions was contracted to undertake the first stage of the long awaited refurbishment and upgrade to the Gold Coast Turf Club. The club had not undergone major works for many years and the increased number of patrons attending race days and functions demanded a new modernised facility.

The project provided our team with significant challenges with works to be completed in an extremely tight time frame. Alder Constructions also delivered an additional scope of works in 3 stages to provide the club with earlier access in the lead up to unveiling the new facility on Melbourne Cup Day.

Scope of Works

Demolition of the old grandstands, toilets and rooftop seating areas.
Extending and enclosing the old grandstands to allow for a larger indoor viewing area, seated areas and bars.
Provisional of four additional escalators and two lifts to service the new extensions and levels.
Upgrading and refurbishing the two members bar areas and Skyline Restaurant and the construction of a New Gallery Restaurant, Champagne Bar, production kitchen including TAB, betting facilities and live TV.
Construction of ten new individual entertainment corporate suites with operable walls that can be added / removed to accommodate the needs of each group.
New Audio Visual system incorporating wireless TV and audio controls.
Upgrading of general TAB and betting facilities.
Complete redesign and refurbishment of commercial kitchens and bar facilities to suit operational needs.
Detailed staging of works to enable earlier access to staff while maintaining safety protocols.
