The development of the Grafton Waterfront Precinct features the construction of a shared use footpath and vehicle access along the riverfront from Prince Street to the Sailing Club, connecting the city and activating this waterfront parkway as a tourism and recreational hub.
This logistically challenging project was undertaken in an environmentally sensitive area adjacent to the tidal Clarence River. Project works featured demolition and earthworks, clearing and grubbing, reinforced concrete pavements and access ways, stormwater drainage, retaining walls, soft and
hard landscaping, extensive revegetation, electrical reticulation, lighting and refurbishment and upgrade of historic community facilities.
This new community infrastructure provides greater accessibility as well as enhancing the natural surroundings with well-considered architectural elements.
