Project Details

This project involved the construction of retail commercial buildings in the growing Hope Island area. Alder Constructions were actively involved in the design of various components to the development, which included the awning structures, timber deck, glazing and lighting works.

Whilst the contract construction period for this project was 26 weeks, through effective planning and rigorous site management, our team were able to complete the works ahead of schedule.

Scope of Works

  • A large proportion of the buildings had suspended lightweight floors over a steep embankment.
  • The design included various combinations of tilt-up panels and light weight wall frames with rendered expanded polystyrene cladding.
  • Awning structures to the perimeter of the buildings which consisted of cantilevered structural steel superstructure, metal roof sheeting and Alutri composite aluminium soffits.
  • Installation of large rainwater tanks positioned below the suspended lightweight floors and reticulation of this rainwater to toilets and landscaped areas.
  • Reticulation of gas into the development.
  • Installation of a padmount transformer and large main switchboard to accommodate this stage of the development and also future stages.
  • Extensive use of glass bi-fold doors to restaurant tenancies.
