Alder Constructions were contracted by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) for the reconstruction of the Oceanview Track located at Burleigh Head National Park, Gold Coast. Burleigh Heads is one of the most popular parks managed by the QPWS, attracting on average 725,000 visitors per year. The Oceanview Track is the predominate thoroughfare amongst the park’s track network.
The project involved the demolition of the existing asphalt footpath and fences and replacement with a much wider coloured concrete track, stair accesses, viewing platform with seating, gabion basket retaining walls and timber fencing.
Works were completed with an extremely tight and restricted working area, along with the daily control of pedestrians through a popular, high foot trafficked area.
