Project Details

Alder Constructions were contracted by the Silkwood Steiner School to prepare the existing site for the new high school campus and sporting fields. Major bulk earthworks of over 10,000m³ cut to fill was required, with over 1,000 lineal metres of retaining structures. GPS controlled machinery was used in order to increase works productivity and to achieve the tolerances required to the building pads and oval.

All required civil works were completed ahead of schedule by Alder Constructions for handover to the building contractors enabling works to be completed prior to commencement of the new school term.

Scope of Works

  • 1,000 lineal metre of retaining walls, up to 3.2m in height.
  • 10,000m³ cut to fill earthworks.
  •  Installation of 1,200 lineal metre rising sewer main.
  • Installation of 350 lineal metre watermain.
  • Installation of stormwater and associated structures, up to 1800 x 1800mm reinforced concrete box culverts.
  • 3,500m² asphalt pavement to City of Gold Coast standards and specifications.
  • Construction of bio-retention basins to City of Gold Coast standards and specifications .
