Alder Constructions has a long history of supporting Broadbeach Surf Life Saving Club with roots stretching back to when our Managing Director, Greg Alder’s daughters were in Nippers. With many years spent volunteering his time as a parent, it was only natural for Greg to continue supporting the growth of the club through Alder Constructions.
As a business, we have donated our time and resources to support the expansion of the club with refurbishments and function room extension. This has greatly assisted the club with revenue generating opportunities as one of a few clubs that do not have poker machines. We continue to support the Club and their Nippers program as a major sponsor.
Supporting the Nippers program enables the club to continue to educate children on aquatic safety and awareness, while providing skills in fitness, first aid, resuscitation and surf lifesaving competition. While competition is an important element, surf safety and awareness is the primary aim. Children learn how to respect the surf, read the surf and use the surf to their advantage. This is done in an environment of fun, healthy lifestyle and camaraderie, unique to surf lifesaving.
Broadbeach SLSC also run an extremely successful and competitive IRB racing team. Broadbeach SLSC was named the 2022 Sharkskin QLD IRB Champions and winning the overall QLD point score. They also won the 2022 Surf Life Saving Australia IRB Masters overall point score and was the 2022 Australian IRB Overall Point score winners!
IRB Competition has been a proud part of Broadbeach SLSC’s recent history with members competing to hone their skills in Inflatable Rescue Boats to better serve the general public while patrolling the beaches.
