Surfs up at Broadbeach SLSC thanks to Alder
Alder is proud to offer their ongoing support as a major sponsor of the Broadbeach Surf Life Saving Club in order to facilitate the education for children on beach safety and awareness while providing skills in first aid, CPR, and surf lifesaving competition.
With deep roots in the club stretching back to when Managing Director, Greg Alder’s daughters attended the club’s Nippers program, Alder have a long history of supporting the iconic club’s surf club, Nippers program, and IRB program.
Not only does Alder’s sponsorship assist in the general running of the club, it also facilitates the purchase and maintenance of equipment and allows members to benefit from attendance at youth development camps and leadership camps which provide valuable skills for team members at school, work, and beyond.
Broadbeach Surf Life Saving Club Junior Activities Chairperson Chantel Fife says sponsorship from local businesses like Alder is vital to the continued growth of the club and the valuable resources to the community.
“Sponsorship is critical to allow us to keep doing what we are doing and reduces the stress for our volunteers,” says Ms Fife.
“We are so grateful to Greg and Alder Constructions who have the best interest of the club at heart.”
The club’s IRB team is one of the best in Australia having recently taken out the QLD Ocean Roar Series, the QLD State Championships, and the Australian IRB Championships. As the only club in Australia to win all three titles, Ms Fife says the sponsorship dollars enable the team to concentrate on developing their skills.
“Taking part in competitions is often expensive with travel, uniforms, equipment and time away from commitments at home but with no financial pressure our team was able to concentrate on what they do best and that is race,” says Ms Fife.
“Alder Constructions’ support has enabled us to expand and grow and to let members gain the skills they need to be better lifesavers.
“We are so humbled and appreciative of this support.”
Alder’s sponsorship has also supported the continued development of the club’s Nipper program with four fibreglass boards purchased this year to enable children to train and compete.
Alder’s sponsorship is a great example of how businesses can have a positive impact on surf clubs and people in volunteer roles. If you are interested in supporting the club please email Chantel at nippers@broadbeachslsc.com.au.
