Project Details

The project involved the complete design and construction of a customised asphalt batching plant to replace the existing plant and infrastructure that had been operational on the site for many years. Alder Constructions were involved in the master planning of the overall site, with particular attention to improving the logistics on the site.

Co-ordination with the Chinese based asphalt plant supplier was imperative during both pre-construction and installation to ensure that all elements complied with the relevant Australian Standards and the overall plant design.

Scope of Works

Master planning the overall site, with particular attention to improving the logistics on the site.
Dismantling the existing plant piece by piece for demobilisation from this site and re-erection in the future at another site.
Design and construction of all concrete foundations and plinths for the plant.
Design and construction of a reinforced earth retaining wall to an average height of 6 metres, utilising large precast concrete blocks.
Major repair/refurbishment of an existing tall retaining wall.
Design and installation of the underground electrical services, including new padmount transformer.
Design and construction of all hydraulic services including Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT).
Erection of the main tower, silos and hot storage bins, including complete procurement and co-ordination of local and Chinese personnel, cranage and elevated work platforms.
Installation of the bitumen and diesel tank farm storage facility including all air, diesel and bitumen pipework.
Final trim of surrounding area and surfacing works.
Commissioning of the Plant.
